Pulling 102: How to Escape the Friendzone - Ripped Pants

Image
Hey Everyone, It's been a couple weeks but I found some time to knock out an episode.  Honestly I needed some time to prepare for this episode because Ripped Pants is ICONIC and proves just how legendary SpongeBob as a character is.  So let's get it. RIPPED PANTS Right off the bat, the title sticks out.  Going into this episode, there must have been some parents who had their trigger finger ready to change the channel in case this episode went south.  And one could argue it was mildly inappropriate at times, but it was 1999; a simpler, less sensitive time, so a little sponge nudity wasn't something to worry about. That being said, the episode opens on a new location known as The Goo Lagoon, which is, according to the French Narrator, a "stinky mud puddle".  To the casual viewer, it looks like a normal beach...in the ocean....underwater...I don't even know what to say...who in the world thought of this?  What does underwater water feel like to them?

Hello Everyone! If you're reading this, then you belong to the subgroup of people that I think are the coolest people in the world.  That should mean a lot coming from the guy that writes a blog about SpongeBob episodes.   But if you are one of the (on average) 41.25 readers, then let me know so I can personally thank you. Today we're talking about Bubblestand.  And much like with most episodes, I was drooling like Mr Krabs when those people offered to buy the soda drinking hat at the thought of typing this blog. Seriously though this is an iconic episode, so lets get into it. BUBBLESTAND Holy Halibut this episode is amazing.  I don't know where to start honestly.  I think I'm going to start by attempting to type the bubble blowing technique from memory...ok...soo.... ...First you go like thiiis, spin aroundSTOP! Double take three times, one...two...three....theeeeeeeen PELVIC THRUST! Woooooo.....wooooooo. Stop on your right foot, don't forget it! And

Pulling 101 - Tea at the Treedome

Hello everybody! If you've made it this far into reading this blog, then you are either a true fan of SpongeBob, or I have been forcing you to read them by annoying you until you do...or both.  Either way, I hope you're enjoying reading these.  I certainly have been enjoying writing them. We will finally be finishing the first series of episodes today with Tea at the Treedome.  I'll remind everyone again to go watch the episode so you can keep up.  https://www.watchcartoononline.com/spongebob-squarepants-season-1-episode-1-help-wanted-reef-blower-tea-at-the-treedome. Here we go. TEA AT THE TREEDOME First things first, this episode features one of the main recurring characters that will play a vital role in the show's future, Sandy the Squirrel.  If this were the first episode you saw, this would be the biggest curveball ever thrown...actually it wouldn't even be a curveball.  This would be like if you were in the batters box and someone chucked a footb

Squidward is a Hipster - Reef Blower

Hello friends! I apologize for the lengthy pause I took between blog posts.  I've been starting a new job and in Spongebob fashion, I've wanted to dedicate my life to my profession.  Because of this, I haven't had much time and blah blah blah you don't care about my life, what you are here for is to read about our favorite yellow rectangular prism. Today I will be tackling Reef Blower, which the shortest episode of Spongebob, but there's a lot to look at here...so lets....*sigh*...dive in....I know I hate my puns too (no I don't). Again, go watch the episodes because I will not be explaining things in full, I expect the most dedicated fans to look up/remember vividly the moments I speak of. Episodes: https://www.watchcartoononline.com/spongebob-squarepants-season-1-episode-1-help-wanted-reef-blower-tea-at-the-treedome REEF BLOWER: We open on...wait...Squidward?...ok that's fine what's he up to?  Well first off he adjusts his crooked flower

Today's The Big Day Readers! - Help Wanted

Are Ya Ready Readers?... I hope you are, because we will be tackling the first episode of Spongebob shown on air!  Taking us all the way back to May 1, 1999, this episode set up some of the most important foundations for the rest of the show.  So let's dive in...get it..dive in..cause they're underwater...ok cool moving on... Before going further, please take time to watch the episodes or you will not understand some references: https://www.watchcartoononline.com/spongebob-squarepants-season-1-episode-1-help-wanted-reef-blower-tea-at-the-treedome (you should be fine, no viruses so far) Help Wanted Right off the bat, we are welcomed to our setting by a relaxing French narrator.  According to the creator of the show, Stephen Hillenburg, the narrator being French is apparently some sort of shoutout to Jacques Cousteau, who also liked the ocean and water and stuff...Anyways, Frenchy somehow read my mind when I saw the Pineapple and says "well of course he lives i

...I can't hear you!!.... If you didn't verbally or mentally scream "AYE AYE CAPTAIN!" then please leave this blog now. lol...probably think I'm kidding right? hahWRONG!  I'm serious.  This blog is for the goofiest of goobers.  If you think Spongebob Squarepants is anything but the best Nickelodeon cartoon ever made then you will probably find this blog to be silly and ridiculous.  Actually, it'll be silly and ridiculous no matter who you are, but only the true fans of Spongebob will enjoy reading this almost as much as I do writing it.   I say "almost" because I firmly believe no one loves Spongebob as much as I do.  I've won a Spongebob trivia contest by myself, and yes, I've included that accolade on a resume that I have used to get a job...but that's another story. Anyways, I hope you like this.  This is where I will be reviewing and analyzing the Spongebob episodes we all know and love.  Disclaimer: I'm not a great wri
